Memorial

Jeffrey Glenn Brown, 47, of Center Point, Iowa passed away March 29, 2021.  A public gathering will be from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday April 7 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom.  A public funeral service will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at New Covenant Bible Church.  Private burial with military rites will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.   

Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time.  The use of facemasks or shields is recommended.

Jeff was born November 9, 1973 to Roger and Georgia (Conder) Brown in Cedar Rapids.  He was united in marriage to Lindy (Madren) on October 21, 2000 in Homestead, Iowa.  

Jeff was a true patriot who loved his country and the state of Iowa. He served for the Army National Guard from 1991 until his retirement in 2013.  During his 22 years of service to our country, he served two tours overseas in Afghanistan. While in the National Guard he served in the Maintenance Division and specialized in Firearms Maintenance.

Jeff joined the Iowa Department of Public Safety as a DCI Gaming Agent in 2006.  In 2016, he transferred to State Troopers the Iowa State Patrol and was assigned to Linn County in Eastern Iowa. Jeff was also a Firearms Instructor.

He loved to be outdoors, hunting and camping.  His favorite moments were spent with his friends snowmobiling, hunting deer, elk and pheasant, farming, and training horses.  He also enjoyed assisting anyone in need. He had our backs. 

He is survived by his loving wife Lindy Brown and daughters, Dakota and Dylann.  He was also survived by his parents, Roger Brown, and Georgia Brown (Conder), grandmother, Oneta Brown and siblings, Leslie Brown, and Timothy Brown all of Cedar Rapids.
