Memorial

Ida Mae Barker (71) of Center Point passed away on July 18, 2021, at her home.  Visitation will be held on Saturday July 24, 2021, from 1:30 to 2:30 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories with a memorial service to follow at 2:30.  

Ida Mae Hanlon was born October 12, 1949 in Dubuque, Iowa; the daughter of Matthew and Mary (Hein) Hanlon.  She graduated from Washington High School in Cedar Rapids; class of 1967. 

Ida was united in marriage to Larry R. Barker on March 7, 1991 in Hiawatha, Iowa.  

She worked for 32 years at Midland Forge.  Ida loved to spend time at her cottage in Dubuque; she loved to watch and feed birds;  loved fishing, and loved her flowers. 

Those left to honor Ida’s memory are her husband Larry, her mother Mary Hanlon, a son Paul B. (Douglas) Godwin; her step children Joshua (Joanne) Barker,  Lindsay Barker, and John Barker; grandchildren Madelyn, Morgan, Mason, Makena, Ada, and Samantha; one great grandchild, Amirah, sisters Mary Jo (Bob) Votrobeck, Pattie Hanlon, Janice (Steve) Hahn; and a brother Matthew (Lisa) Hanlon.   

She was preceded in death by her father and a stepson Larry Barker Jr.
