Memorial

Cecelia L. Gulrud, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, July 12, 2021. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 from 1:00-2:00pm at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A memorial service and burial will take place immediately following. Cecelia Lorraine Landgren was born on August 4, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Alex and Cecelia (Tupy) Landgren. She attended St Ludmila School. She was united in marriage to Everett W. Kennedy in 1953. Cecelia worked at Electronics Co. and Quaker Oats before becoming a full time farm wife in 1960. She later married Gene Gulrud in 1998. She was a proud member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. 

Cecelia enjoyed shopping, gardening, cooking, getting together with family, attending concerts, and dancing. She especially loved animals, including her 3 cockatiels, Joey, Angel, and Derecho, and her outdoor kitties. 

Cecelia is survived by her children, Liane (Randy) Kennedy, Everett J. (Rhonda) Kennedy, and Gloria Kennedy; grandchildren, Bryan (Jenni) Johnson and Sarah (Matt) Klostermann; great-grandchildren, Hadley, Rhyle, Tilmon, Kamryn, and Kylin; and 8 step-children; and many special nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Everett; second husband, Gene; sister, Adeline Marx; and brother, Delbert Landgren.
