Betty Gruwell (95) of Marion passed away on July 10, 2021 at Northbrook Manor Care Center.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 20th, 2021 at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories from 10am-11am with funeral service to follow starting at 11am. Betty Jean Stocker was born February 18, 1926 on the family farm near Moravia, Iowa; the daughter of Milton and Bertha (Simmons) Stocker. Betty was united in marriage to Harold Gruwell on August 31,1957 in Kirksville, Missouri. She worked as a home daycare provider and later as a school bus attendant for Linn-Mar Schools. Betty loved to cook, flowers, and spending time with her family.
Betty is survived by her husband Harold; her children Michael (Kathy) Hull, Pamela (Dean) Huff, Jerry (Nancy) Gruwell; her grandchildren Chad (Dawn) Huff, Jennifer (Brad) Gillen, Lindsey (Scott) Davis, Sloane Huff, Brad Gruwell; 5 great grandchildren; her siblings Bonnie Clancey and Marge Coghlin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Gary Lee Hull, 4 brothers and 7 sisters.
