I will long remember her positive loving spirit. I smile just thinking about her. Over the years she made countless contributions to our educational system, as well as to the overall community. She was a role model for children and adults alike! My condolences to Mike and family.

Cindy was a true One-Of-A-Kind lady. She lit up the room, no matter the occasion. I will remember her unmatched wit, her generosity, and her desire to get right in and help the less fortunate no matter what was needed.

We send our most sincere sympathy to all of Cindy's family. She shared her talent with us in the form of a huge frog and then Spiderman, both of which continue to bring smiles to us all - as we know she did for so many others. Our hearts are with you.

My condolences to the family of Cindy. I was fortunate to work with her at McKinley and Taft. Cindy knew how to instruct and connect with the students at these two schools. I remember her method of dealing with a chatty class. She would pass out lemon drops at the students entered the classroom. This cut down on the talking. Cindy was a master teacher.

Mrs McDonald was an amazing woman and teacher. She worked to help me keep focused and realize my full potential as a busy bodied kid. She showed amazing love and compassion for her students and I imagine that carried throughout the rest of her life as well.
I will always remember her as an inspiration to myself and others. Remember her bright spirit during this time of loss and celebrate her amazing life!

We were so saddened to learn of Cindy's passing. Although I never taught with her, I sat beside her at many middle school committee meetings. She was always the most animated, passionate advocate for kids, and she would regale our group members with wonderfully entertaining stories. Her sense of humor was absolutely delightful, but her most endearing quality was her concern for others. I remember when I had to undergo surgery for a brain aneurysm several years ago. A few days before my surgery, a package from Cindy arrived which held a lovely little stained glass angel and a prayer for my health. That little angel has been passed from family member to family member during some trying times, and I think of Cindy every time it offers comfort and hope. Rick and I are sending our most heartfelt sympathy as you mourn this lovely, loving woman. Hugs and prayers to you all.

Mrs. McDonald was one of my favorite teachers! She was warm and understanding and was able to connect with students as individuals. She taught me things in 6th grade that I still use 30 years later. So sorry to hear of her passing.

I am sorry to hear of Cindy's death. Blessings for each of you in her family. Having taught with Cindy at both Garfield and Taft, I know the caring, laughter, and talent she shared with all. Her gorgeous murals at Garfield brought delight to the students in her classroom there. She will be remembered and missed.

Thoughtful, humorous, caring, and gracious are only a few of the descriptors that come to mind when I think of Cindy. Her ability to make you laugh was a gift, usually with some self -deprecating remark! When I entered her class room, she would have her students rise and say in unison, "Good morning!" She taught her students how important it was to be respectful and to have manners.
At the end of the school year, a potted, red geranium was on my desk with a note that said, " Thank you for all you do for kids." My thought was, "Cindy, thank YOU for being a role model, friend and teacher, not just for kids, but for everyone in this building." Your impact will be with us forever.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. Cindy was a wonderful person who looked at each individual students' talents and helped them to excell at them. She also had a great memory and remembered students and even parents years later. I will always remember her smile and infectious personality and so will my sons!

'Cindy' was a fabulous and kind person. I enjoyed seeing her visit the Handi-Mart store I worked at. She would buy extra creamers often for her fellow teachers. One time she and Mike even had me over for a nice Dinner with Katie and a few others. Beautiful inside and out...I will miss her and pray for her dear Family. She was a Rose among the world.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I grew up with Katie - went to High School with her and I was in and out of the McDonald house. I saw the power of a loving family. -Katie, I tried to send a card in the mail, but it was just returned to me today. I don't know how to get in touch with you.
