John Marion Harford was born to John S. and Donna (Phillips) Harford on May 27th, 1941 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  He took his last breath of life at his home on April 4th, 2021 and is now in Jehovah God’s memory.

Johns’ favorite things in life were camping, hunting, anything outdoors, vintage automobiles (1969 and older), fitness, weightlifting custom knife collecting, and spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.  He was proud of his 33 years of service to the city of Cedar Rapids with the street’s department.  He was always ready to lend a helping hand whenever needed.  He was not a big talker, but his actions and character spoke loud and clear for him.

Survivors are his wife Judy, daughters, Dawn Loughren of Coggon, Marcie (Jason) Weber of Lisbon, Crissie (Kent) Osborn of Cedar Rapids; sons, Jason (Kim) Harford of Central City, and Dustin Harford of Alburnett; grandchildren, Brenden (Tina) Sauer, Dylan Harford, Jake Weber, and Kaylee Osborn; step-grandchildren, Amanda Pomeroy, Heather Schlosser, Amy Eastman, Angie Odean, Madison Weber, Wyatt and Peyton Osborn; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Charlie McNitt, Carol (Butch) Longerbeam; brothers, Delbert Harford, and Terry (Diana) Harford.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Donna May Swenson, sister-in-law LaDonna Harford, brothers-in-law Leland Swenson and Bill McNitt, sons-in-law Al Odean and Mike Loughren.

Per his wishes there will be no funeral, but his family will hold a private celebration of life at a later time.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.  Please send cards to 206 Roosevelt St. PO Box 87 in Alburnett, Iowa 52202.

Thank you to Hospice and all of their nurses, especially Kim, who was so helpful through such a difficult time.
