James W. Jones, 58 of Cedar Rapids died Thursday October 22, 2020 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Private family services at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The service will be live streamed on Friday, October 30, at 3:00 PM and may be viewed at:
https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/30545445. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. As mandated by proclamation, social distancing must be practiced which requires a limited number of people to be allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of facemasks or shields are required.
Survivors include his wife Linda Jones, 3 daughters, Jamie (Kiel) Jones, Samara (Nicholas) Valentine, Ryan (Bryan) Range and a son Dennis (Laura) Valentine. He is also survived by 3 brothers L.V. (Tonya), Tillmon and Willmon, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Jones and a brother Jesse.
James was born on September 30, 1962 in Water Valley, Mississippi. He married Linda K. Goodall on July 10, 2012 in Cedar Rapids. James was a senior Operations Engineer at Transamerica for over 30 years. He enjoyed all kinds of sports and doing yard work.
James was an avid fan of the Lakers, Buccaneers, Dolphins, and Cyclones. He especially enjoyed time with his family and friends.
He will forever be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
