Jack Anderson Taylor, husband, father & grandfather. Truly he loved his family and didn’t hesitate to pack up & move with JoAnn to be with them. He loved his music almost as much as his family. A hard worker and a “people person” for sure. In the life & times of Jack Sexton, he accumulated many friends. I first met Jack & JoAnn soon after I met son Gary, later married into the family and delivered their first grandchild, Heather. They accepted me without hesitation and took me in & provided love and support when I so needed it. In those days, I lived on their farm just down the road from Coggon. My job was to feed the chickens. Fond memories indeed especially as he did the Dave Dighton Band “gig”. Perhaps his glory days as it was evident how much he loved singing & playing guitar in the band., all the people & the dancing...oh the dancing. Jack & JoAnn danced around the ballroom so in step with each other. It was plain for all to see how much they loved one another. I remember dancing with him too, stepping on his feet a few times. Jack knew how to roll with the changes, JoAnn always following his lead. I believe she would’ve followed him anywhere. He was a handyman, demonstrating his skills on the farm and then while he and JoAnn managed the motel. Really a handy guy to have around. A navy veteran, and proud of it as seen in his obit photo wearing his naval carrier hat. In recent years was able to make the trip to Washington DC, visiting the memorial, sharing memories with fellow vets with the Eastern Iowa Honor Flight organization. I was so glad when his application was accepted, and son Gary chaperoned. Jack Anderson Tayor Sexton, a man remembered fondly and lovingly, lives on in the hearts & minds of all who knew him “Life is not measured by the breaths you take but by the moments that take our breath away.” Maya Angelo.

Beautiful Celebration of Life Service. Love and hugs to you JoAnn - and to your family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your families.
