Dorothy Mae Miller passed away May, 20, 2020 at her home.

Dorothy was born October 30, 1936 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Lorene (Rotter) Klein. Dorothy grew up in Marengo, Iowa and graduated from Marengo High School in 1955. She later attended Iowa State Teacher’s College in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

On July 27, 1957 Dorothy married Charles H. Miller. They settled in Marion, Iowa and had two children, Barb Miller of Marion and Dave Miller also of Marion. Dorothy was employed as an IPI aide at Linn Mar Community Schools. She later became a Bonds Clerk at United Fire & Casualty Company. She retired from United Fire & Casualty. 

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Charles; daughter, Barb; and son, Dave. She is also survived by her sister, Betty (Paul) Gardner of Coralville, Iowa; niece Sheri (Keith) McDonald and their son Dylan of Spring, Texas; and her niece, Lori (Dan) McMahon and their daughters Ashley and Emma of Coralville; and sister-in-law, Norma Miller of Marion, Iowa. 

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lorene Klein.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery on May 26, 2020 with Reverend Gregory Williamson of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Marion Officiating. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial be made in Dorothy’s name to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Marion, Iowa.
