Sandra Lee Crosby, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died June 28 at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy. A private service will be held at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.

Sandra was born on September 9, 1951 in Chicago, IL. She attended high school at Simeon in Chicago, IL, married Major Hudson, and lived on the South Side of Chicago until her second marriage then moved to Colorado Springs, CO. She then moved to sunny Tallahassee, FL to help raise her grandchildren. Over the years she worked at a record shop, as a pharmacy technician, a collection agent for HUD Property Management, and owned a pre-school daycare. She finally moved back up north to Cedar Rapids, IA where she remarried her love, Tony Crosby, and was raising her grandson, JuJu, until her death. Sandra enjoyed spending time with her friends, especially her “Golden Girls” Cheryl Coleman and Laura.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Tony Crosby; son, Matthew Hudson; daughters, Tina Hudson and Monica Hudson; grandchildren, Jelisa, Anthony, Paul, Lil Matt, De’Andre, Omar, Janae, Derrick, DonDrell, Teena, Eric, Clay “CJ”; great-grandchildren, Ty, Malik, Moriah, KeShawn, Deylon, Damieon, Dreaya, De Andre Jr., King, Dominique Jr. “DJ”; great-grandchild “Sparkles” Hudson; and ex-husbands Major Hudson,  LaVaugn “Scooter” Foshee.

For the Lord’s anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime, weeping may last for the night, but a shout of joy comes in the morning. Psalm 30:5 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the family.
