I was very fortunate to have Stan as my manager at Collins for many years. He was my favorite boss, and a great friend and mentor. I always tried to treat my coworkers with the respect that Stan showed me. He affected my life in a positive way, and I will miss him. As we exchanged Christmas greetings each year, his love and pride in his family really showed through. May God bless you all!

I worked with Stan at Collins Radio Company during the early 70s, when the company was going through hard financial times. He was a good leader and a good friend!

Stan was one of the truest friends that I ever had. When we were bachelors we shared the rent on the various home we lived in. He bailed me out a couple times. He was a real true friend. Everyone that knew hm will miss him. Rex King 2/1/2020

My brother, husband and I spent such a memorable day with Stan a few summers ago when he and David, Kari, and Kim visited some Funston Virtue ancestral sites outside of Galena with us. He was an amazing man filled with kindness and a warm sincere heart. We will miss him.

I'm going to really miss the smile that this guy always had on his face, even when he didn't feel the best. Breakfast at Scott's just won't be the same with him.

I'm going to miss seeing your smiley face every day, coming into Scott's for breakfast. It won't be the same. I'm glad i got to meet him when i did. He was a very kind hearted man.

I have cleaned Stans house since 2008. I will miss him so much! He was a great friend. So thoughtful. Always worried about the house being to hot when I was cleaning. He was such a great person to everyone! He would talk about his family often. He loved you all very much!

Stan was the father to my good friend, as well as one of the volunteers in our Scout troop when I growing up. In that capacity he was always a cheerful, friendly, and supportive father figure in my life, who guided and supported me in my Scouting exploits. He would also always welcome me over to his home (where I spent more than my fair share of time in high school) asking me how things were going and taking an authentic interest in me. My life is better for knowing him, and his wonderful family.

As Jim P stated above, I was also extremely lucky to have Stan as a manager and a mentor when I first started my professional engineering career. He was kind man, always taking the high road and seeing the best in the people around him. May God give Peace to his family in this time of grief.

I got to know Stan a bit when he and I would eat breakfast at Scott’s at the same time. He was a true gentleman — polite and friendly, and he was always so happy to see my two-year-old daughter. He was a great guy and I will miss him.
