Memorial

Albert Joseph Gonzales, 64, of Waterloo, passed away on January 3, 2020, at MercyOne Medical Center in Waterloo. A graveside service will be held on January 6th at 12 PM at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A celebration of Life will be held at Harmony House in Waterloo on a later date, 

Albert was born on July 14, 1955, to Beatrice (Botello) Johnson in Mason City, Iowa. 

Albert is survived by his mother, Beatrice Johnson; sisters, Carol Gonzales, Susie and husband Bob Schliemann, Diane Robinson and Monica Johnson, all of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Roger and wife Kim Gonzales of Savana, IL and Scott Johnson of Cedar Rapids; many nieces and nephews, including Matthew Gonzales and Bianca Gonzales. Albert is also survived by his Harmony House family consisting of all of the staff who cared for and loved Albert, as well as the other residents. 

Albert was preceded in death by his father.

Albert liked the Iowa Hawkeyes. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed being outside.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Harmony House in Waterloo.
