Just received word of Jack’s passing. Jack was the manager for the Jefferson High swim team the 3 years I participated and we graduated together in 1965. Jack was always friendly and such a super nice person. Though we haven’t seen each other in many years I still remember him well. So sorry for your loss.

Such a surprise to learn of Jack's passing. He was a good person and always enjoyed visiting with him. Sending deepest sympathies to his family. He will be missed.

Jack and Liz--go back a long time with me. I was a community agent at Jefferson HS years ago and when Jack was involved with kids and placements. Then he and Liz and I were in grad school classes together. We always had a blast and had some of the same commitments to helping kids who were having their challenges with life. Then we got involved in tax preparation with Jack's firm--dealing with his partner Mike Dawson. What a great man with a million dollar smile and always making one feel better about their day and life. Love to the family and a big smile and salute to a life well lived. Anne and Jack Pilling.

I was shocked when I heard that Jack had died. He was a good man who helped thousands of at risk young people in crisis. I learned many important lessons working with Jack for many years. He will be missed but not forgotten. My thoughts are with the family

Sincere condolences to all Jack's family and friends. I had knew Jack for many years due to his work with youth and his tax business. Jack was a kind and caring man.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Selk family, relatives and friends. Jack was the Chair of the Search Committee when I was offered the job at the Boys & Girls Clubs. He was someone I could call on at anytime for counsel. That lasted well after he left the Board of Directors. I am truly saddened by the news because we lost a great advocate for the kids that need our community and people like Jack.

My son, as an irreverent teen, once asked me, “Dad, if you win a million dollars which son will you call first.” “None,” I shot back. “I’ll call my tax friend, Jack.” Then he said, as he braced for the backhand, “Isn’t that the same guy you call ‘cause you don’t have any dollars”. He laughed because he thought he was hilarious, I laughed because it was so dam true. Rest easy, friend of all seasons, and know that you will be truly missed.

We were both shocked & so very sorry to hear of Jack's passing. As many have said, he has done our taxes forever as well as offered some good financial planning advice. I always looked forward to seeing him each year. He would answer ALL my questions, no matter how silly they were & I always knew I could just file them away because Jack was so very honest & knowledgeable. When I'd ask him about his family-he would light up & we'd have fun comparing notes! We were very fortunate to have known him & he will be greatly missed. Our deepest sympathy for your loss.

Liz- Deepest sympathy to you and your family. I met Jack thru you around 30 years ago when you were director of the Alzheimer’s Association. It was quickly clear to me you married someone extra special. Jack was among the most humble, unassuming, non-judgmental, calm, comfortable in his own skin individual I have ever met. In addition to your own children, the many other kids Jack met through his volunteer work found the perfect role model. Take care.
