Delores was born on March 29, 1929 in Hampton, Iowa the daughter of Fred and Esther (Helvig) Muessigmann.  She graduated from Hampton High School.  She was united in marriage to Del Eldon Block on June 27, 1948 at Grant Center Church. She was a long-time member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids where she was the church secretary for 20 years, and active member of the church choir and Bible studies.  She also volunteered in many other charitable organizations in the community.  Del and Dee enjoyed many friendships, travel, golf, walking, and time spent wintering in Florida.

Dee was a quiet humble servant and mentor as she lived out her Christian faith every day, sharing her gift of cooking, an inviting home, and friendship with everyone who knew her.  Her grandchildren remember her for her wonderful meals and a warm and loving home to visit.  Her laughter, her grace and her peacefulness made them feel welcome, loved, and special.  Family was the highlight of her life.

Survivors include her husband of 72 years Del of Marion, two daughters Debbie (Tom) Hedges of Eagan, MN and Delinda Byers of Cedar Rapids, 5 grandchildren Brandon, Abby, Aaron, Callie, and Megan.   8 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, son Timothy Block, 2 brothers Lester and Clarence Muessigmann and 1 sister Elsie Hunt.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family which will be distributed amongst her favorite charities.
