We had the pleasure of meeting Bob and Alo when we moved in next door in 1995. We became great friends and grew to love them both over the years. They had raised a wonderful family and loved them dearly. She talked about her grandkids and great grandkids all the time, always proud to show us pictures. This year with the COVID, we didn’t get to see them very much in person to be able to hug, it was always thru a window. One of the last things she said to me a few months ago, was that she just wanted to get up and run like she did when she was run. Alo, you can run as much as you want now and just know that Frank and I will miss you. Our condolences to Bob, Sue, Cheryl and family.

We had the honor of knowing the Geuder’s as we attended Jefferson high school. We were active in concert choir, West Side Delegation, musicals and theatre. Alo was a joy to know and always greeted with her smile. We are sending condolences, and prayers to the family. She will be missed dearly by so many. God bless.

Bob, Susan, Sheryl, and families-
Our deepest sympathies! Alo was Bob’s right arm, but as we came to know her better over the decades, she was her own person also. A fantastic and easy conversationalist. We miss her, and we are here for Bob! Sending our love.

Dear Bob and family,
Our deepest sympathies on Alo’s passing. I have so many wonderful memories of our lovely costumer making us look stage ready. She had a great deal of talent and patience. Her ready smile and laugh warmed many hearts. May she rest in peace. May you be blessed with fond memories.

I was shocked and saddened to read of Alo’s passing today. I have such fond memories of her creating fabulous costumes for me for The Sound of Music and the first two follies. She was a talented seamstress and always offered words of support and encouragement. I can’t help wondering how many productions she sewed for! Alo’s death is a huge loss for our community but an even greater loss to Bob and all their family. My heart goes out to you. I hope the many wonderful memories will bring you peace.
Best Wishes, Karla Goettel

I remember when, as a senior in high school at Nashua, Iowa, the Geuders moved to Nashua. We all enjoyed our new teacher, Mr.Geuder and got to meet his lovely wife Alo. Although we have lost touch since they moved to Cedar Rapids, I still have fond memories of both of them . Sending my sincere sympathy to Bob and the family in the death of
Alo. May God keep all of you in His wonderful care.

I want to extend my sympathies to Bob and his family at the loss of Alo. My husband Chuck knew both of them from high school and always talked about them and their involvement with the follies. We only got to see them at the high school reunions of Bob and Chuck’s class. We had great conversations with them thru the years. We were lucky enough to see the costumes she worked on when we went to the follies. She will be missed.

Bob, I'm so sorry to read of Alo's death. I know how hard it is to lose a spouse; my husband died in June.
It's years ago now, but I'll always remember all the patient and generous help you gave me when I was doing drama at Wilson.

Bob, I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your beloved Alo. Many years ago (1971), when I was a novice director at Linn-Mar, Alo and you graciously loaned costumes to me for my production of Romeo & Juliet. Through the years, I delighted in and learned so much by attending your Jefferson productions.

My heart goes out to Alo’s family for the loss of this beautiful lady. I had the privilege of working with Alo back in our days at Hiawatha elementary and learned so much from her. She had a wonderful way of connecting with others and terrific sense of humor. I have many wonderful memories of her. She was one of the kindest people I have ever known.

We missed Alo's obituary in the Gazette which we typically read online and were sad to hear the news in your Thespian email of January 1. I remember meeting her at Jefferson one of the times when there were productions in process.
Our sincere sympathy on the loss to your family. It is especially hard to face this during a holiday. Our hearts go out to all of you and we will keep you in our prayers.

Dear Mr. Geuder, I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Alo. What a wonderful spirit! So kind and so loving. I often recall the time that Jim Keller and I stopped by unannounced to your and Alo's home. You welcomed us to your home like this was business as usual and we were treated with such kindness and love from you both. We were two High School kids who just loved working with the both of you at Jefferson High School in plays and also West Side Delegation. Alo was very often there waiting in the wings to congratulate us and more importantly you! it is you Mr. Geuder and the wonderful Alo Geuder that I will remember the most from my school experience. I am so sorry for your loss. I loved you both very much. Thank you for taking such great care of us at Jefferson High School. With Much love and Sadness, Daniel Haight
