Memorial

Lorraine Howk, 84, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, September 22, 2019, surrounded by her loving family.  A graveside service will be held Friday, September 27, 2019, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.  Visitation will be 11-12 pm at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.  

Lorraine Mary Howk was born May 22, 1935 in Bremer Minnesota, the daughter of Ernest and Bernadine Krebsbach.  Foster parents John and Shirley Tesar were an important part of her early life.  She married Charles Howk on October 6, 1957, in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Lorraine and Charles settled in Cedar Rapids and raised a family.  She loved to go fishing and camping with her family, and she found time, she loved to knit.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, husband, a son and two daughters, along with a son in-law.  

Survivors include her son Steve(Sue)Howk, daughter Dianna Howk, sister Penny, grandchildren; Amanda, Ashley, Kasi, Jeremy, Robin and a great grandchild Lily.  

She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She had a heart of gold, and will be missed by all who knew her.
