Leatrice “Lea” Bean

Departed on Oct 19, 2019

To the Bean family-The world has lost a very special woman. Our family shares your sorrow. Mrs. Bean was the really the "person in charge" at Mark Twain. She always knew what was going and everyone counted on her to make sure the school ran smoothly. Our sons (Noah and Tom) were fortunate to have such a kind, caring school secretary. Heaven has surely welcomed a beautiful soul!

So sorry to hear of Aunt Lea's passing. What a special lady! Please know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Love from the Wisconsin clan!

Class of 47. We have met the third Thursday every month when we lived inCedar Rapids. We are sure going to miss her at those luncheons. Sorry we are going to miss the funeral. Our love and condolences.

To the Bean family: Very sorry for the loss of this sweet soul. Mrs. Bean was one of the nicest people ever. I went to grade school in the early 70s at Twain and she often doubled as the nurse as well. She always had a smile on her face and a encouraging word for all. All of us children who went through Twain were really fortunate to have her around. It was almost like having a second mother at school. So sorry for your loss. God Bless.

I was very sad to hear about Lea's passing. What a very special lady. I met Lea at the Rehabilitation Center of Lisbon. She was one of the first friends my mom met there. I always enjoyed talking with her. She will be missed. My families thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Dear ones, We are sad to hear about your Mom. She was a big part of our lives back in Iowa City and we have good memories of her. We still have the baby blankets she made for Michelle, Toni, and Rob. Mark Twain would not have been the same without her kind, friendly presence. God Bless you all and bring you peace. Ron, Ginny, and Rob Rogers

Your parents were both very special to my family and to Gloria Dei. When I went into teaching, your mother would always meet me with a smile and words of encouragement whenever I saw her. More people than you can ever imagine were so touched by her in so many ways. Keep all your memories close to your heart. Kris Wingate and family
