Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Eileen (Helle) Egloff; infant siblings, Pat, David, Larry and Lisa Egloff; and nephew, Pat Mormann.

Many may have had a connection with Gary through his love of horses and the thoroughbred horse racing industry.  Gary owned and operated a horse boarding facility for many years, where he took care of many great people and their horses, hosted large horse shows and taught everyone he encountered how to better care for and enjoy their equine friends.  Gary was actively involved in the Iowa Thoroughbred Breeders and Owners Association, training, racing and breeding successfully for many years.

Most important to Gary was his family.  He especially loved his time spent with grandchildren.  Some of the best memories include: road trips, attending car races, gardening, and water gun attacks.  Gary enjoyed everything outdoors.  He learned his love of gardening and canning from his mother, and like her; produced many delicious things for his family.  In his free time, he could be found at an estate sale, produce auction or anywhere he could find a unique treasure or good deal.  Gary will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, dependability, attentiveness, and generosity.
