We remember Ruth as a very compassionate lady...especially loved by her contemporaries! She was gifted as a pastors wife and helpmate as well! She has been missed at Nevada First UMC!! The Brodies

Ruth was a wonderful addition to our church in Nevada. Her passion for education, and her teaching skills were evident during her years here. We stopped several times to visit Ruth and Ernie as we passed through Cedar Rapids on our way to visit family in eastern IA. We miss them.

Ruth was an L.A. teacher at Vernon Jr. High in Marion when I started my career there as librarian. I remember Ruth as a dedicated teacher but even more how dedicated she was to her family. I'm glad to see that her passion for poetry and literacy carried throughout her entire life. My sympathies to everyone in Ruth's family.
