Dorothy I. Pollock, 89 of Cedar Rapids died Saturday July 6, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Funeral services at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Tuesday from 5 to 7 PM at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.

Survivor include a son Dennis D. (Vicky) of Solon, and a daughter Sandra of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by seven grandchildren Dennis E.,  Loretta, Earl Jr., Tina, Todd, Melissa and Cherri, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, two sons David and Richard, a daughter Janice, two still born twin daughters, one brother, two sisters, and two great granddaughters.

Dorothy was born on April 16, 1930 in Olin the daughter of Guy and Mary (Lindley) Coppess. She married Norman L. Pollock on January 12, 1947 in Cedar Rapids. Norman passed away in 1977.

Dorothy was a cook and worked at the Pine Inn Cafe for over 25 years, as well as several other restaurants in the Cedar Rapids area. She was a member of the Oakland Church of the Nazarene. Dorothy enjoyed watching movies especially westerns, game shows, and the T.V. series Combat. Sitting on her front porch was a common place you could find Dorothy in the summer time, visiting with family and her neighbors. 

She was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, and grandmother who’s memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
