Glendora L. Simon, 90 of Cedar Rapids died Wednesday January 16, 2019 at her home. Graveside services were held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Glendora was born on November 25, 1928 in Cedar Rapids to James and Ethel Young Kidwell. Glendora was raised in the Anamosa and Monticello Area.
During WWII the family lived in the west, but later moved to Monticello. In 1947 she graduated from Monticello High School.
In October 1947 she was married to Earl Mottinger but later divorced. She then married Edward Simon in 1964, until his death in 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann (Dale) Sager, Tammy (Charles) Simon; one son James (Marcia) Mottinger, one step son Eddie (Linda) Simon; two grandchildren Sydney and Jonathan Sager.
Glendora was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters Shirley Bascom and an infant, a daughter, one son and a grandson.
She was a lover of country music, an avid reader, and enjoyed word puzzles. She loved being with family especially her grandchildren.
