Evelyn was born on January 19, 1925 in Maquoketa the daughter of Harry and Elsie (Andersen) Franck. She married George P. Swanson on June 28, 1947 in Cedar Rapids. George passed away in 1989. Evy was a homemaker and a faithful member of Echo Hill Presbyterian Church.

Evy enjoyed life to the fullest.  She loved her friends immensely.  She took pride in her home, garden, and her love for God who guided her to the end.  She was active in the church until her health made it too difficult.  Evy had many joys in her life.  Her door was open to all who wanted to come and have a cup of coffee, chat, and feel good.  Her hospice team were angels and she felt so blessed to have them in her life.  When her health was good she was a longtime volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital with the Patient Representative program as a patient visitor.  She also worked with the advantage program.  Her family invites you to come to her service, feel her presence, enjoy some food, and as her mom always told her BE KIND to one another.

Memorial donations may be directed to Echo Hill or Hospice of Mercy.
