Greta Lee(Hanson)Van Fleet, 86, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Friday, February 1, 2019 at Meth-Wick.  

Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, 2019 11:00 at Trinity/St James Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  Visitation, Wednesday February 6th, 2019, 4-7 pm at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom.

Greta is survived by her husband, John, children; Steve(Gigi)Van Fleet. Of Cedar Rapids, Terri(Rick)Jendra, of Chicago, and Michele(Bret)Blaylock, of Cedar Rapids.  Three grandchildren; Jason Finney, Lindsay Hernandez, and Jonathon Van Fleet, along with 5 great grandchildren.  A brother, Denny(Jan)Hanson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and a grandson.

Greta was born June 8, 1932 in Cedar Rapids to parents Truman and Glennys Hanson.  She married John F. Van Fleet Jr on May 16th, 1954.  Greta lived a long fortunate life.  She worked 41 years as a ward secretary at St Lukes Hospital in the pediatric ward.  She was active with the Kernels baseball association, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2001.  Greta enjoyed gardening, yard work, ice skating, and being outside.

The family would like to thank Meth-Wick, and hospice, for their loving care for Greta.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Trinity/St James United Methodist Church, or the Meth-Wick Community.
