Doris Marie (Haldy) Gaddis 90 of Iowa City died Friday February 1, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Christ the King Lutheran Church. Private burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. There will be no public visitation

Doris lived in many places, as she would tell you including; Cedar Rapids, Solon, Iowa City and North Liberty. She attended Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. She was married to Roy Gaddis Jr. in 1947, who predeceased her in 1981. She volunteered by serving meals at the Salvation Army and delivered library books to the homebound. In 2012 she suffered a broken hip and had to use a walker, but it didn’t slow her down. She endured and continued to be a “go-getter”. Doris will always be remembered for her friendliness, concern & kindness to others. She also liked to give advice. She always had a story to tell. Everyone loved receiving her thoughtful little gifts. She kept in close touch with her 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She was the glue that held her family together. She will be greatly missed by many but will always be remembered.

Survivors include a son Roy III (Deb) of Solon; four daughters, Donna Marak of North Liberty, Kathleen (Craig) Davis of Denver, North Carolina, Patti (Chris) Blodi of Des Moines, and Jennifer (Jeff) Pecora of Melbourne, Florida; a sister Susan Wilson of Cedar Rapids and one brother Willard (Maurita) Haldy of Traer, and her ten grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be given to Compassus Hospice in Doris’ name.
