Katrina Jane (Stevenson) Fristad passed away on December 4, 2019 in her home.  She was born on June 22, 1973, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to William and Judy Stevenson.

Katrina attended school at Toddville and Alburnett.  Graduating in 1991 from Alburnett High School.  She later attended the University of Northern Iowa.

Katrina enjoyed multiple jobs in the medical field, finally as a ­­­­­­Cardiac Device Tech at UnityPoint Cardiology.  She was always a leader in her profession and excelled at all she did.

On May 19, 1993, she met Phillip Fristad and they were married on October 29, 1994.  Together they had 3 remarkable children- Courtney (fiancé, Jake Ayers) of Hamilton, IL, Cameron Fristad of Cedar Falls, and Collin Fristad of Cedar Rapids.

Survivors also include her parents, Bill and Judy Stevenson of Marion; her brother, Travis Stevenson of Marion and his children Mikaela and Lucy Stevenson; her “crazy” aunt Linda (Ron) Peil and uncle Jim (Carolyn) Vahrenwald; mother and father-in-law, Rev. Kalen and Darlene Fristad, and sister and brother-in-law Kara (Scott) Potter and their children Emma and Logan; her special pets, Liesl and Suzy; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

Katrina’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wilbur, Dr. Lee, the staff of Hall Perrine and Mercy Radiation, Mercy Hospice and especially Christa, Amanda, Alice and the many volunteers that supported the family.  Additionally, the family extends great thanks to her co-workers at UnityPoint Cardiology for their kindness extended during this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Katrina’s honor may be directed to the family.

A memorial visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the Cedar Rapids Scottish Rite Temple, 616 A Avenue NE, Cedar Rapids, IA where a memorial service honoring Katrina’s life will begin at 2:00 p.m.  Private inurnment will be held at a later date at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
