Jacqualin “Jacquie” A. Oster, 86, of Cedar Rapids passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 at Meth-Wick Community. A funeral will be on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11am at Christ Episcopal Church with a visitation at 10am. 

Jacqualin A. Meyer was born on December 1, 1933; the daughter of Cyril J. and Dorothy (Pearson) Meyer.  She was married to Clark Oster on July 23, 1955.

Her vocations were 2 years teaching 6th grade in Lima, Ohio, 3 years para-professional Kennedy High School Cedar Rapids, 28 years alternative high school subjects for Kirkwood Community College and the Linn-Mar school district.

Jacquie was a member of P.E.O. chapter OP, Tourist (book) Club and the Meth-Wick book club, Bunco group and AAUW.  She was part of the event staff, along with her husband, at the Paramount Theater, U.S. Cellular Center, Ice Arena, Veteran’s Memorial Stadium and Community Theater Cedar Rapids “TCR”, for over 35 years.  

Jacquie was a member of Saint Michaels/Christ Episcopal Church for 55 years where she was involved as a Sunday school teacher for 5 years, choir member for 15 years, vestry member for 3 years, traveled to South Africa for mission work.

She enjoyed travels to Alaska, Panama Canal, Italy, France, A Danube River Cruise, Australia, and Hawaii.  

She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, playing Words with Friends on her tablet, reading, theater and most of all spending time with family and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and baby brother, Richard Cyril Meyer. 

Left to cherish Jacquie’s memories are her husband; four children, John Michael “Mike” (Marie) Oster of Longmont, CO and their 4 children, Olivia, Julia, William and Maggie; Patty (Eric) Borseth of Pleasant Hills and their 3 children, Brandon, Thomas and William “Bill”; Paul (Amanda) Oster of Clarksville, TN and their 3 children, John, Joshua and Eston; and David Oster of Cedar Rapids; and 10 great-grandchildren, Logan, Lily, Gemma, Grace, Silas, Isaiah, Fiona, Titus, Nora and Judah. 

Memorials may be directed to Christ Episcopal Church, or the American Cancer Society, or Cottey College in Jacquie’s name.
