Sol Maikon

Departed on Aug 18, 2019

Sol was a sweet guy and he has gone to his reward. I was the shuttle driver at Randy Kuehl Honda for several years and always loved to take him either to work or home and visit with him along the way. Always remember him on his Christmas birthday too! God Bless!!

Sol was a kind, caring person. He served for many years on the Board of Directors of Discovery Living, Inc. He strongly believed that people with intellectual & developmental disabilities should live with dignity in the local community--not in institutions. Sol was for many years one of the first faces you would see when you entered Smulekoff's, manning the jewelry department. He loved his work and his many loyal customers. Rest in peace good friend.

Was very saddened to see this in the Gazette. Sol was a sweet gentleman that cared for so many. I knew Sol for many years and would enjoy stopping in Smulekoff's just to visit with him. He always had a smiling face for all as you came in the front door and even bigger smile when he shared stories. Sandy, he spoke so much of you and displayed his love for you in his eyes and it poured out of his heart with the mention of your name. God Bless your whole family and my condolences.

My deepest sympathies to Sol's family. I had the pleasure of working many inventories with Sol when he worked at Smulekoff's. My mother, Mary Ernest, worked with Sol for many years. He and I had many discussions about world affairs and religions while counting and filling our inventory cards. Such a wonderful man and I have such fond memories of him.
