Memorial

Charlotte Darlene Beeson passed away on Sunday August 4, 2019, but I would say to you, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? She is not here. She is risen.” If she was here, she would encourage you in three things; Do justly, Love mercy, and Walk Humbly with your God. Do justly. Charlotte Darlene Beeson was born December 15, 1946 in Moundsville, West Virginia. She was raised by her grandparents, Lottie and John Landers. They taught her to do right by others. They worked hard and took in those who did not have a home. They had just enough but gave what they could to help others. Charlotte believed that giving to others lifts both you and them.

Love mercy. Charlotte married James Richard Beeson, who preceded her in death. They had two children, James Edward Beeson (Lea Ann) and Amy Marie Priborsky (Jeff). Charlotte worked for the Cedar Rapids Community School District at Hoover, Johnson, Taylor, and the ESC. She was a quilter and enjoyed making mittens and hats for the kids who did not have them. She made hundreds of pairs of fleece mittens and hats for elementary schools. She also made baby blankets for Bridgehaven. She believed that providing for others was a mercy we all have the capacity to do. Find your passion and use it to provide for those who are in need. Walk humbly. Charlotte has four grandchildren, Kate Beeson; Ryan, James, and Mattea Priborsky. She has one great grandchild, Ky. She travelled on several mission trips including helping rebuild houses with Samaritan’s Purse in Mississippi after Hurricane Katrina and rebuilding houses in Guatemala with Impacto Ministries following a mudslide. She was not a trained construction worker, she was someone who was willing to go and serve others. She taught her grandchildren to step up to the challenges the world places in front of you with humility and grace. She extended herself to others with the knowledge she was not the best person for the job, but the one who showed up. So, show up. Be willing to give of your time and talents to help others. Make the world a better place.

I lift my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? It comes from the Lord, maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip, he who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord watches over you - the Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all harm - he will watch over your life. The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday August 13, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until 2:30 p.m., at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.  Burial will be Private at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
