Memorial

Marvin C. Johnson, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday October 3, 2018. Services: 10:00 a.m Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Timothy Carter of The First Nazarene Church. Visitation will be on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Surviving includes his children, Jeanie (Mike) Berger of Kansas City, Missouri, Carol ( Tom) Kriz of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Christine Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Michael (Connie) Johnson of Paola, Kansas,  14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren,  8 great-great grandchildren and his brothers, Harlan  Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Fred Johnson of Palo, Iowa. His wife, Grace Johnson, his parents, a sister, Donna Campbell and brother, Harley Johnson preceded him in death.

Marvin was born August 2, 1929 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Carl and Anna (Phifley) Johnson. He married Grace Lineweaver on February 26, 1949 in Iowa City, Iowa. Marvin worked many jobs in construction and attended The First Church of The Nazarene in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and tinkering on cars. He was always helping people and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Memorials may be given to the First Church of the Nazarene in memory of Marvin.
