Irma Bunce, 102, of Hiawatha, died on October 2, 2018.  She was born March 24, 1916, to George and Margaretta (Allen) Streif.

Irma grew up in the Farley area, and attended business college in Dubuque.  She was working as a legal secretary when she met her husband Dean.  They were married on July 4, 1941.  They raised their family in Anamosa where Irma later served as the secretary for the Warden at the Anamosa Reformatory.  Some of her favorite activities included playing her organ, gardening, and cooking for the family.  Dean and Irma enjoyed dancing and were members of the Merrimix Formal Dance Club.  Family vacations always included Florida where Dean and Irma later made their retirement home.  In 1993 they moved back to Cedar Rapids to be closer to family.

Irma is survived by her sons David and Gary (Yvonne); 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dean, and by 3 sisters and one brother.

A visitation will be held on Friday October 5, 2018 from 1:00-2:00 pm with a service following at 2:00 pm.  Visitation and service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, 4200 1st Ave NE, Cedar Rapids.  Private family burial will take place.
