Gary Lee Weichers, 73, of Fairfax, died Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.
Gary was born February 16, 1945, the son of John and Lucille (Dobel) Weichers, in Floyd County, Iowa. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. On March 25, 1995, Gary was married to Constance Sherman.
He worked as a mechanic and enjoyed doing mechanical projects around the house. Gary also enjoyed outdoor activities, yardwork and was an avid golfer. He and Constance loved to travel around the United States.
Survivors include his wife, Constance Weichers of Fairfax, IA; two daughters, Michelle (Larry) Spitler of Munford, TN, Jenny (Chris) Tullos of Drummonds, TN; step-son, Curt (Angela) Hansel of Solon, IA; step-daughter, Cyndi Hansel of Cedar Rapids, IA; four grandchildren, Justin, Hunter, Britney, Victoria; four siblings, Carol (Dean) Niehaus of Oak Ridge, TN, Roger (Marg) Weichers, Winona, MN, Larry (Judy) Weichers, Escondido, CA, Donna Gladish, of Cedar Rapids, IA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Richard Gladish.
