William (Bill, Jerry) was born on January 16th 1939 in Marshalltown, Iowa to Frank and Wilma Partridge. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Richard whom he always looked up to. Bill is survived by his daughter Brenda Metcalf (Kevin) of Shawnee, Kansas, and son Bill Partridge (Kathy) of Cedar Rapids. Bill had 7 grandchildren, Jason, Adriane (Jeremy) Shank, Paul, Cory (Kristina), Spencer, Riley, and Brian along with 5 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are Bill’s sisters Maxine and Sally along with several nieces and nephews.

Following Junior College in Marshalltown Bill went on to graduate from Iowa’s State Teachers College (UNI). Bill then moved to Cedar Rapids and taught at Cedar Rapids Washington followed by Cedar Rapids Kennedy. Bill was an avid lover of music playing the guitar at an early age and then teaching himself how to play the banjo. This love of music was passed on to his children and grandchildren. Bill was also a lifelong fan of his beloved Chicago Bears (Bear Down!). In high school he would often take the train from Marshalltown into Chicago to see a game at Wrigley Field. He even made a point to teach the fight song to all of his students at Kennedy. Bill had numerous friends and will be dearly missed.
