Lyle W. Berns, 53 of Anchorage, Alaska formerly of Cedar Rapids died Monday March 12, 2018 at the Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. Graveside services with military rites at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery at 3:30 PM on Friday March 23, 2018, gathering to follow. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include the loves of his life two daughters Natalia Payne of Bloomington, Indiana and Carly Galovin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His parents Bill and Norma of Marion, and two sisters Barb (Bobbie) Berns Van Hoeck (Doug) of Cedar Rapids and Terri Vance of Audubon. He was preceded in death by a sister Tonie Blohm.

Lyle was born on May 27, 1964 in Cedar Rapids the son of Bill and Norma Kelley Berns. He worked in restaurant maintenance for C&R Enterprises for over 28 years. He proudly served in the army and was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed the Alaskan outdoors; hunting, fishing, target shooting and camping. His relationships and friendships were mighty and lasting and in Lyle’s own words “U B U; if you can read this I happen to love you. Have a day lovelights.”
