Memorial

Evelyn E. Novak, 94, of Amana, died Sunday March 18, 2018 in Mercy Hallmar, Cedar Rapids. Memorial services are set for 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 14, 2018, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, where a visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Chaplain Mike Patterson will officiate.

Survivors include her daughter, Sharon (Ed) Veit of Amana, Iowa, stepsons; Maury (Elaine) Novak of Lorraine, Ohio, and Craig Novak of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her brother, Robert Schwab of Belle Plaine, Iowa, her grandchildren; Susan (Brad) Huff of Solon, Iowa and Joseph (Kelly) Veit of Omaha, Nebraska, step grandchildren; Taleah, Mallorie, Laura, Pam and Jeff and 11 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Wayne and Charles Schwab.

Evelyn was born November 27, 1923 in Vinton, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Alvena (Schluntz) Schwab. She married Emil L. Novak on December 12, 1959 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Evelyn was employed with FMC in Cedar Rapids. She enjoyed reading books and doing crosswords puzzles.  

Memorials may be made to Essence of Hope Hospice in Amana or Mercy Hospice in Cedar Rapids in memory of Evelyn.
