Darrel L. Andre, 82, of Marion died Monday March 12, 2018 at Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Services at 10:00 AM on Friday at First United Methodist Church in Marion. Rev. Vicki Standley will officiate. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday and at the church after 9:00 AM on Friday.
Survivors include a daughter Renee (Ron) Valenta of Cedar Rapids and two sons Darin of Cedar Rapids and Jeffrey of Tucson, AZ and his grandson Trenton of Cedar Rapids; one niece and five nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents Norman and Bertha, his wife Elaine, his son Kevin and his sister Darlene.
Darrel was born October 27, 1935 on the family farm in Mechanicsville Iowa. Darrel was a proud Air Force veteran staff sergeant. He worked for Rockwell Collins for 34 years. Darrel had a deep passion for flying. His greatest joy in life was his family.
