Kris and family, Our heartfelt condolences. May your active and full lives act as a blessing to your dad. Steve & Megan Ginsberg

condolences and thoughts to clif's wife, monti, and the whole family. we were roommates our first year in medical school and had many good times together - he gave me my nickname "boots" and i called him "the tube" for his booming always cheerful voice. we have visited a number of times when he and monti came to the valley for a few weeks every winter until he became too ill to travel. a wonderful guy and i'll treasure many of those decades ago memories. nnn

Dr. Hendricks was an awesome and kind man, who was my eye doctor for more than 30 years. He and I would talk about my dad, football, and many other subjects during my visits. I've missed him, and am very saddened to hear of hear of his passing. My deepest condolences to the family. Maxwell Grant

Dr. Hendricks was one of the best ophthalmologists in Cedar Rapids. He was very compassionate to many people who could not afford their eye exams. He would often try to find ways to help the impoverished and remain humble in doing so. Dr. Hendricks at one time, "wrote off" thousands of dollars of outstanding bills that people could not afford to pay --- he told the patients to not worry about it; he would accept whatever the insurance paid. If they had no insurance, he would still very often do the work for free. Too often we hear the "negatives" in life, but when there is someone who donates as much as some people do, we thank God for the humility and knowledge and caring presence of people like Dr. Hendricks. My sympathy and prayers to all the families.

Dear JoAnn, I'm so sorry to hear of Cliff's passing. It's nice he was at home. Unfortunately, I never got to know him well. Do take care of yourself, JoAnn; for I am concerned about your well being. My Sincere Condolences, Marilynn Keller

I was Dr. Hendrick's first surgery patient when he finished his residency. I first saw him when he was finishing up his residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals when I was 5 and having trouble in school because of double vision. He told my parents that he would be finishing up his residency that month and was setting up his office in Cedar Rapids. I was his first surgical patient and his surgery turned out well. I did all right in school and eventually got my MBA in Information Systems. I will always be grateful to him for being patient with a child that could not understand what was wrong with him. He will be sorely missed.
