Eugene Kenneth Dushek, 86, of Stuart, Florida, formerly of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Monday, January 29, 2018 at Treasure Coast Hospice in Stuart, Florida.  Per his wishes, there will be no services.  Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.

Surviving are his daughter, Jeanne Catron and husband Steve of Palm City, Florida; his grandchildren, Brandon Struve and wife Kendra of Orlando, Florida; Timothy Catron of Stuart, Florida; and Hannah Catron of Vienna, Austria; his great grandchildren, Dexter and Wednesday Struve of Orlando, Florida; his brother-in-law, Gerald Grimley of Austin, Minnesota; and his sister-in-law, Joan O'Rourke and husband John of Austin, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Beverly Dushek; his son, John Dushek; and his siblings Irene Steffensmeier, Raymond Dushek, and Martha Braunger.

Eugene was born June 8, 1931, the son of Joseph Dushek and Adeline Wesely in Owatonna, Minnesota.  He graduated from Owatonna High School in 1949.  Eugene served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict from 1951-1954.  He graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1959.  On May 14, 1960, he was married to Beverly Mae Grimley in Austin, Minnesota.  The couple spent seven years in South Bend, Indiana before moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1967.  Eugene retired from Rockwell-Collins in 1994, and enjoyed writing poems and spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.
