Holli will truly be missed. She was a huge impact on my life and career. Holli taught the residents about evidenced based Medicine, cost effective care in a kind and intelligent manner. Also, she helped shape my practice style to provide quality care to patients. She was like a sister to me and I will miss our talks. God bless her. For all that we are feeling right now we have to remember how strong and upbeat Dr. Holli was when she was carrying such a heavy load. She would want us all to celebrate her great life and learn from her how to handle the most difficult of times. Our hearts, our prayers and thoughts are with Dr. Goedken and all the family.

It's very difficult to know that we will no longer be seeing her beautiful bright smile and hear her genuine caring voice at the office. Holli always lifted our spirits with humor and loving attention. She always forged ahead with courage, even in the toughest times when her health was fragile. She was genuinely concerned about the feelings of others. I'm so grateful to have been blessed to have worked Holli. She will be missed terribly. My deepest condolences to all the family, friends, and co-workers at Family Physicians.

Dear Dr. Goedken, Sharing your sorrow in the loss of one so dear, and sending deepest sympathy. Even though it was my first visit with her, I found her a very caring, wonderful doctor just like yourself. I felt a connection with her right away not knowing why at the time, I also lost a parent in age two. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May God Bless you during this difficult time.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I took swimming lessons at the YMCA with Holli. She was determined and strong. She loved learning and improving her stroke. I knew she had cancer, though she never told me and never complained. There wasn’t an ounce of self-pity in her, just commitment to health and wholeness and self-discipline. She inspired me. I will picture her as I remember her: swimming lap after lap, confidently, methodically, beautifully.

There are no words to describe the pain of a broken heart, to describe the joy that you brought to our lives and the grace with which you lived. The fou dation of friendship built in the long hours spent in the hospital, forging our future with passion and conviction. I was thinking of you as i got ready to teach grand rounds on 2/1 in the auditorium where we spent so many lunch hours learning. You must have been with me. I vow to continue to fight for the right things, not necessarily the easy things and I will think of you always as thr best of friends until we meet again.

Dr. Goedken
It is with great sadness that I offer my condolences for the loss of HOLLI. I would like you to know that it was my privilege to do her monthly blood draws at 411.
Holli was a wonderful person and an inspiration to others. She would walk into my office with that beautiful smile of hers and her witty “are you ready for this?” attitude. (she was no easy stick) but she coached me through it with no sign of discomfort and only praised for the job well done.
Holli, had a presence about her that made me feel so thankful and so honored to know such a brave and determined soul.
I will miss her dearly.
My thoughts are with you and the rest of your family during this time of bereavement.
Sincerely,
Kelli

While no words can erase the pain of your loss at this time, we can look forward to the promise at Isaiah 33:24 - "no resident will say, I am sick". God's enemy death, will be swallowed up forever (Isaiah 25:8). When these promises are fulfilled, we will enjoy life the way our Grand Creator purposed for us…forever on earth with no pain. (Psalms 37:11, 29)

I've come to realize that nothing in life prepares us for losing someone we love...nothing. Dr. Goedken, you and your family are in our thoughts and in our prayers. People come into our lives for a reason and I know that Holli will be watching over my daughters Crystal, Courtney and Cassidy from above. Holli, a beautiful strong woman, who fought so hard and while fighting she was showing my daughter, to have hope and to never give up. I am so blessed she was a part of my families journey.

Dr. Goedken, I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Holli’s passing. I was just in for a visit this past January. She was always so bright and cheerful. At the same time she was not afraid to be very direct as to my well being and what steps I should be following to stay healthy. She had a way of making me feel as though I was the most important patient she cared for and I’m sure she made her other patients feel the same. She will be greatly missed. God bless you and your family as you pass through this time of sadness and the loss of your wife and friend.

Dr. Goedken,
Words cannot express how deeply saddened I am to hear of your loss.
Though we have never met, my daughter Tiffany Kuehl, has spoken dearly and with such high regards of you and Holli both that I feel I've known you for as long as they have.
Everyone is feeling your loss and yet feeling blessed to have known and been cared for by Holli. Especially, my granddaughter Crystal.
I pray that God gives you strength through this difficult time.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dr. Goedken, we are so very sorry for your loss. Reading her obituary and the condolences left on this page paint a picture of a truly remarkable woman, and our world seems a little darker for her passing. Through the years you have shown you possess an extraordinary heart by the wonderful care you've given us. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers as you begin to heal from this profound loss. Washington Irving wrote, "There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than 10,000 tongues; they are the messengers of overwhelming grief and unspeakable love." Embrace your tears and lean on the angels surrounding you offering comfort.

Mark, Mary and I were saddened to hear of Holli's passing. I can understand to some extent what its like to loose a parent as a child and to have cancer in later life. I remember the looks of distress on my family's faces when they found out that I had cancer. I know you will remember the good times with Holli and in time move on with your life. I wish you the best. Duane -

Dr Goedken, I was sorry to hear that Holli passed away. I always enjoyed our appointments together even though I knew she was going to be tough on me. I am so saddened by the news of miss Holli passing. Though I only met with her a few times it was obvious she was blessed with the easy and calming bed side manner needed in her work. A true gentile lady. Dr Mark I send prayers of loving memories flooding you at your time of sorrow and the hopes that knowing your earthly mate is out of pain and in the arms of her heavenly father will ease your pain.

I am stunned to hear Holli has passed from this world. I heart is lightened hearing of how courageous she was and how much joy she brought to people. Holli and I were best friends all through childhood, we lost touch in high school after I moved away. Unfortunately, we chose different paths and lost touch. I will always remember being at the house on the farm, riding that stubborn horse ginger, Irene waking us up from numerous slumber parties, getting kicked out of Tami's room and so many, many memories. My thoughts are with you all. Audrey

My sincere sympathy to Dr. Mark and all the family. I felt like I was coming in the office to have a chat with my good friend. I was her patient, but if I had a daughter I would have wanted one like her. She was always so caring and explained everything very carefully. Also, she always had time for a little chat with me regarding her health or anything I wanted to talk about. I told her she had such a great attitude and was such an inspiration to others. And she was and is. My heart goes out to you Dr Goedken . It does get better with time but she will be with you always.

Mark, there are so many exceptional qualities about Holli that I will always cherish, but it was the strength of her faith that amazed me. She knew God and held Him close every waking moment. He sustained her and gave her the courage to endure a very painful journey with dignity and grace. She never lost sight of the needs of her patients, and she carried out her mission to be there for them far beyond what others would have been able to do. Holli will never be far from my thoughts. May you find peace, knowing that you were blessed with a very special wife. My prayers are that your love and memories will help you through the days ahead.
