Memorial

Jerry Stiles, of Vinton, formally of Cedar Rapids, joined his loving Savior and beloved son, Robert Stiles, in Heaven on Monday, December 3rd, 2018.

Services will be held Friday December 7th, 2018, 11:00 am at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.  Visitation will be Thursday December 6th, 2018, 4-7pm at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories Stateroom.

Left to cherish his memory are former wife, Oralue Stiles; children Tami (Matthew) Schloss, Plant City, Florida, Louanna Stiles, Marion Iowa, Todd (Lisa) Stiles, Hiawatha Iowa, Jerri Stiles, Marion, Iowa and Amy Davis, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, also brother Dick English, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Preceding Jerry in death, son Robert Stiles, parents Charles and Althea Stiles, and two brothers and four sisters.

In the 1950’s Jerry enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, honorably serving for four years.  Patriotism is something he passed on to all his children.  Jerry worked for Penick and Ford for the first half of his career, and then for Farmland Industries until he retired in 1996.  A giddy sense of humor and a very close relationship to his Lord and Savior are what Jerry is known best for.  Some will also remember his beautiful Irish tenor voice, whether it was in the church choir or alongside his children, with daughter Tami playing the piano. Music was a cherished talent Jerry shared with his family.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Home in Vinton, Iowa.
