James Leigh Joslin, 68, of Marion, died Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, after a long battle with cancer, but not without putting up a courageous fight. Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Saturday, August 25, 2018 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Friday, August 24, 2018 at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial: Oak Hill Cemetery following the service. 

James was born March 28, 1950, the son of Fred and Dorothea (Bates) Joslin, in Clinton, Iowa. He was married to Virginia Rae Techau on May 5, 1989 in Cedar Rapids. James worked for Quality Pest Control before retiring in 2012. He enjoyed many hobbies including; reading, history, and watching Ghost Adventures. James inherited his children and grandchildren through marriage and quickly became a great role model for them. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him. 

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Joslin; two sons, David (Sherri) Schooley, Donald Schooley; daughter, Dianna (Robert) Lahue; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; sister, Vivian Siemer; one niece; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Schooley; and brother, Fred Allen Joslin.
