Gordon Gregg Berg, 67, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on April 22nd after a long struggle with cancer.
Born in Wellington, Kansas, Gregg graduated with honors from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1975, and went on to a residency and assistant professorship in radiology at the University of Missouri, Columbia. He practiced as a Vascular and Interventional Radiologist in Cedar Rapids from 1986 until his retirement in 2016. He was instrumental in designating Vascular and Interventional Radiology as its own specialty, and continued implementation of new procedures throughout his career. Outside of his professional life, Gregg was an artist, a bird hunter and an accomplished craftsmen of historic rifles and muskets. His loved ones will miss his sense of humor, intellect, and compassion.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Berg; his daughters, Natalie, Amanda, and Cassandra Berg; his stepsons, Heath and Brock Aldershof and families; his sister, Wendy Greer and her husband Bob Greer; the mother of his daughters, Carol Berg, and many others whose lives he touched.
A service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, April 28th at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to APG Foundation, PO BOX 1248, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52406, which provides assistance to Cedar Rapids cancer patients in need.
