Duane John Elsbury Sr., 81, of Cedar Rapids, died, April 12, 2018 at Evergreen Estates in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 10:00 am Monday, April 16, 2018 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, April 15, 2018. Interment: Following services on April 16, 2018 at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Duane was born May 9, 1936, the son of John and Grace (Romig) Elsbury. Duane was employed by Iowa Manufacturing until he retired. Duane enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid outdoorsman, he was also an amateur boxer and race car driver.  Duane enjoyed spending time in his timber, but his greatest joy in life was his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren and watching his grandson wrestle.  

Survivors include his son, Duane (Wendy) Elsbury, Virgil (Joyce) Elsbury, David (Diane Jennings) Elsbury; daughter, Teresa Elsbury; his sisters Lucille Howe, Joyce Netolicky and Jeanette Wutzke, and brother Burdette Elsbury, twelve grand-children and twenty great-grand- children. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruby and his sister Phyllis.
