Donald A. Dean, 85, of Marion, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded and a private inurnment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Donald was born on November 18, 1932; the son of Donald Sr. and Matilda (Krizek) Dean. Graduated from Marion High in 1951. He then joined the Navy on December 12, 1951 and serving till December 6, 1955. Donald married the love of his life Darlene Janko on December 31, 1953 and shared many memories together until her passing in 2014. He worked at the Iowa D.O.T for 42 years as a supervisor of maintenance. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and traveling with Darlene.

Donald was preceded in death by his wife, son Donald D. Dean, brother Lee Roy Dean and parents. 

Left to cherish Jr’s memories are many nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Throughout the years that Donald and Darlene spent together they would frequently send donations to Camp Courageous as gifts for family birthday’s. To honor their life any donations may be made to Camp Courageous.
