Austin L. Barnes, 19, of Cedar Rapids passed away Monday April 23, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City from Ewing’s Sarcoma and Secondary Cancer Leukemia. Services at 11:00 AM on Saturday the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Cedar Memorial Certified Celebrant Dr. Jim Coyle will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 PM on Friday.

Survivors include his parents Teresa Corcran and her fiancé Tim Griffith of Cedar Rapids and Larry Barnes (Jennifer) of Illinois; a sister Sabrina Barnes (Mickey) of Cedar Rapids; two brothers Tylor Barnes (Alexis) of Cedar Rapids and Larry Barnes III (Sasha) of Illinois; grandparents Nancy (Rick) Montague of Cedar Rapids, Jim (Billie Jo) Corcran of Vinton; great grandparent Stanley Corum of Marion; two aunts Elizabeth and Lindsey Estes, an uncle Brandt (Sydney) Corcran; many cousins to include Christopher, and his significant other Kaylin Slaymaker. He was preceded in death by grandparents Helen Corcran, Pat Corum, Sharon Barnes and his beloved companion Porkchop.

Austin was born on June 3, 1998 in Cedar Rapids the son of Larry Barnes and Teresa Corcran and graduated from Prairie High School in 2016.

Austin enjoyed playing video games, all outdoor sports to include football, basketball, camping, fishing and Kayaking. Austin enjoyed life to its fullest. He will be forever remembered as a wonderful son, brother, grandson and friend whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved. He will be greatly missed.
