Memorial

Ed Harrison, 61, of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017. A funeral service will be at 1:00 pm, on Monday, January 30, 2017, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids.  A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017, from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Fredericksburg, Iowa.

Ed was born on June 11, 1955, in New Hampton, Iowa to Raymond and Dorothy Rogers Harrison. He was raised and attended high school in West Union, Iowa. Ed enlisted in the United States Navy in 1973, where he honorably served until 1982.

He was employed by Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC) for 32 years, where he was the Operations Shift Manager. In 2002, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Lawrence in Cedar Rapids. Ed enjoyed listening to music and taking care of his beloved cats.

Ed will be missed by his wife, Bonnie; his parents, one sister, Patricia Patterson; two brothers, Danny and Dale Harrison and his cats.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents.
