Memorial

Donna J. Schade, of Walker, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at the Hiawatha Care Center.

Services will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home at 11:30 am on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 9:30-11:30 am Saturday at the funeral home.

Donna was born May 20, 1931 in Atkins in Benton County, Iowa to parents Walter and Gladys (Risdale) Rinderknecht.  She married Herbert Schade on September 1, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Newhall, Iowa.  Born to this union were three children, Dianne Schade, married to Les Ratekin, of Evergreen, Colorado; Debbie Robbins of Tucson, Arizona; and Steven Schade married to Nancy Schade of Walker, Iowa.  Six grandchildren, Andrew Ratekin, Carrie Westover, Ben Robbins, Joshua Schade, Jenna Schade and Carly Ratekin as well as two great-grandchildren, Ian Westover and Elaina Westover, will miss her dearly. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Donna truly enjoyed her grandchildren, walking, reading, swimming and flowers. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 0376, Walker, Iowa for many years.
