Frieda Kirkpatrick, 93, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Marengo, died Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at her home.

Funeral service: 10:30 am Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids with Rev. Michael Erickson officiating. Burial will be in Marengo Cemetery, Marengo, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm Friday at Bethany Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her son, Ron(Cheryl) Kirkpatrick of Cedar Rapids; Daughter, Gloria (Ed) Schumacher of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren, Justin Kirkpatrick, Jodi (Todd) Knebel and Joanna (Travis) Godbey and Chris (Suzanne) Schumacher and Tonya (Shawn) Samuelson; also surviving are 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ralph in 1981, two sisters, and three brothers.

Frieda Elizabeth Schoenfelder was born December 15, 1922 in rural Iowa County the daughter of George & Elizabeth (Steinmetz) Schoenfelder. On June 2, 1945 she married Ralph Kirkpatrick in Marengo. Frieda was a bookkeeper for Amana Society Bakery and then worked at Northwestern Bell until retiring. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Communications Workers of America, and Lutheran Layman’s League. She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
