Edward H. Schott, 95 of Cedar Rapids died Monday September 12, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. Memorial services with military rites at 1:00 PM on Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories where friends may call after Noon on Thursday. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his loving wife of 70 years Beulah, two daughters Terri Schott of Cedar Rapids, Jan (Steve) Koch of Urbandale and a brother James (Todd) of Englewood, Florida. He is also survived by two grandchildren Jenny (Chris) Reece, Brian Koch, and two great grandchildren Graham and Elliot Reece. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Marvin and two brothers Elwin and Lloyd Jr.

Ed was born on May 3, 1921 in Marquette, Iowa the son of Lloyd and Rose Powers Schott. He married Beulah L. Dykeman on March 24, 1946 in Ottumwa. Ed did auto body work for Allen Motor Company for over 35 years retiring in 1986.

Ed was a member of First Lutheran Church and V.F. W. Post No. 788. Ed served in the Navy during WWII both in the Mediterranean Sea and the Pacific. Ed was very patriotic and proud of his military service and in 2014 accompanied by his daughter Terri, was a member of an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. 

Ed enjoyed fishing, golf with his grandson and was the family go- to-guy that could fix anything. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
