Dr. Denis Joseph Hughes, 64, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday September 27, 2016 at his home. Memorial Service: 3:00 pm Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories.
Denis was born March 15, 1952, the son of Joseph and Nellie (Corbet) Hughes in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He served as an officer of the United States Air Force. Denis was married to Patricia Horvath on February 2, 1974. He worked for Rockwell Collins for 16 years. Denis was an Eagle Scout and received his doctorate in business from St. Ambrose University.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Hughes; three sons, Joel (Natalie) Hughes, Zachary Hughes, Brody (Jason) Ludke Hughes; two grandchildren, Keelyn Hughes, Taryn Hughes; sister, Sheila Eshleman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
