William Herman Stolte, 84, of Atkins, passed away Thursday November 17, 2016.
Bill was born on July 29, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Herman and Fredericka Stolte. He graduated from Wilson High School in 1950. He was married in 1952 and had two sons, Steve and Bill. He later divorced and married Janice, his beloved wife of 44 years. Bill’s family grew from two sons to two sons, four step-sons and one step-daughter. Bill worked as a sheet metal worker at Penick & Ford, retiring after 34 years. Bill enjoyed traveling, nature and watching sports. He wanted to live to see the Cubs win the World Series.
Bill is survived by his wife, Janice Stolte, his two sons, Steve (Marcia) Stolte and Bill Stolte, four step-sons, Kev (Deb) Kramer, Val (Dawn) Kramer, Scott Kramer, Jim (Becky) McCarter and a step-daughter, Shell (Ray) Carter; four grandchildren; Jessica (DJ) Mundt, Jenny (Dave) Dewes, Angela Stolte and Michael Stolte and 13 Step-grandchildren; Paige (John) Henry, Travis Kramer, Amy Kramer, Mindy Kramer, Bradley Kramer, Katie Kramer, Ken (Amber) Kramer, Chris (Amy) Cady, Jerimiah Cady, Tige (April) Bral, Shari Bral, Sarah (Matthew) Bullard and Zach (Kelin) McCarter, and five great grandchildren and many step-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Lonnie (Lois) Stolte and three nephews, Roger, Lowell and Larry Stolte and two nieces, Kris Lyon and Diane Nelson.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Joan Stolte, one sister and brother-in-law, Arda and Pete Jensen, one niece, Cynthia Tysdahl, and one step-grandchild Slade Bral.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Per Bills wishes, the memorial service will be private. Inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
